Our vision is to empower sports leaders, equip coaches, serve churches and transform lives and communities through Christ using sports.

Do you enjoy to run with, throw or kick a ball? Do you like teaching others skills that you have mastered since the time when you could still run, jump, or kneel without pulling a muscle or something worse?

Our team needs young energetic people who want to use sports to model the love of Christ to disadvantaged children. We also need mature adults who can train sport coaches, mentor teachers and be godly father and mother role-models for orphans. Come play the most important game of your life with us.

The reality of a father’s absence

My name is Ricardo Golden. I’m 29 years old and currently working with OM South Africa. One of my favourite quotes is “bend a tree while it’s still young”, meaning to shape a life at a young age. We live in a world where a spirit of fatherlessness reigns. Even amongst children who still have both their parents there is a lack of stability and structure. This is something I can relate to. While my two brothers and sister grew up in East London, I grew up in Johannesburg with my aunt. My father believed he was doing the best thing for me when he sent me to live with my aunt at the age of three.

Our History

How it all started

SportsLink began the ministry in 2010 with the World Cup in South Africa. Chris Welman and Nigel Keur had been leading the Ministry for about 2-3 years. Over that time we had many people come and serve with SportsLink from across the world. We had people from the USA, Germany, Namibia, Singapore, Paraguay and South Africa and they came and had a blessed time here using sports to bring God glory.
