    Upgrading the MDT base

Our current Missions Discipleship Training programme has been hosted on a base just outside of Pretoria for more than 20 years. Almost 2000 missionaries from across the world were discipled, challenged and trained to reach the nations. Every year a diverse group of about 100 trainees calls this place home. Even with continued maintenance the state of the buildings has deteriorated to such an extent that we need to urgently upgrade the current buildings.

Already we have built three new accommodation buildings that are able to accommodate 48 students but we need to build more accommodation units as well as a new lecture hall and kitchen/dining area. Partner with us in shaping the future of world missions.

    Supporting Missionaries

    Supporting Missionaries

All of the OM staff, from the accountant to the church planter, are full-time missionaries that do not receive any salary. Each one is responsible to find sponsors that believe in the work they do and that would be willing to support them financially each month. But many of these missionaries comes from communities or backgrounds that does not have much financial resources.

A monthly gift of R100 can help pay the bills of a family living in the Middle East or Asia. Your once-off donation could enable an African missionary to be trained and send to the ends of the Earth. Imagine the impact you can make together.

Soko Project The Diaspora Hope Team in Cape Town reaches out to the foreigners in the city. One of the sub groups are the African craft traders working around Green Market Square. The team members befriend these traders and try to get them exposed to the gospel.

There is a need for materials to do this: Bibles, books and tracts in Swahili, French, Somali, Chichewa, Arabic, etc. Your gift is very welcome!

Diaspora Hope has a little trading spot (for free), nearby Green Market Square, in a place called SOKO, where they can “trade” the gospel.
Besides the distribution of literature there is a need to organize bible studies and discovery groups in this place.
Will you help us reaching these Africans with the gospel?

    Helping AIDS Hope

AIDS Hope has been blessed by an opportunity to take over a facility within Mamelodi that enabled them to build stronger relations with the community, as well as to host an afterschool-care programme for orphaned and vulnerable children in the area. Currently "Meetse a Bophelo" (Fountain of life) is home to several projects aiming at HIV and AIDS prevention, care and support.

If you skip your lunch and make a donation of R25, you'll provide a healthy meal for 2 kids at Meetse. A gift of R1000 will help us acquire a mini-van to help with the daily transport of the children. Or perhaps you want to make history for generations to come - we are in the process of buying this facility and any contribution matters a lot.

    OM South Africa Ministry Center

You can help the vital work of the OM South Africa team right now! Our aim is to serve and mobilise churches to become involved in the work of the great commission. We do this through building relationships, missions awareness and providing resources. We also have a dedicated team providing support services and administrative functions necessary to get missionaries to the field and helping them to stay focused on their ministry without worrying about administrative tasks.

Your gift will bless the OM South Africa team to recruit, send and support the hundreds of full-time workers transforming lives and communities for Jesus.

Wood for the Poor in Bosnia

In Bosnia, one of the happiest sounds of summer is that of wood being chopped. For the people who own the wood, that sound means that their firewood to heat their homes is nearly ready for the cold, Bosnian winter. But that sound causes others to be worried. They don’t have the money to buy wood. Some of the poorest people live in the most basic housing, sometimes shacks, and endure snowy winters without the money to buy wood for heat. There is no other means of heating their homes.

In the city of Bihac, the OM team buys firewood for some of the poorest families in the area. We have seen how this very practical way of helping people opens doors to their homes and hearts. They are deeply touched by the fact that someone cares for them. The team does follow-up visits to talk with the families, share the Gospel, and pray.

Your financial gift will help warm the homes and hearts of those in need in Bosnia.

    Arabic Bibles

In recent years, there have been many reports of Muslims having dreams about Jesus and then wanting to know more about Him. There is a sense of openness in the Arab world that was never to be witnessed before. Political unrest, economical changes and access to worldwide media, challenge the old ways of thinking. Yet many seekers don't have any access to the Bible or Christian literature.

God’s Word changes lives. You can help us impact the Arab world more by helping us get Bibles into the hands of people. Right now a gift of R25 will purchase a Bible for an arabic speaking friend. You can also help purchase other Christian materials such as evangelistic DVDs and booklets.

    Pakistan Flood Relief

Since flooding began in Pakistan in July 2010 the OM Pakistan team has been working tirelessly to feed families, provide tents, and to provide medical care for local communities. In addition, the team has partnered with local churches and other volunteers, getting food packages to waiting families.

Amidst high waters, with no electricity, complying with local regulations, and in the middle of monsoon season, the OM Pakistan team realized that they would have to deliver prepared meals to flood victims. The team recruited a local cook trained in preparing meals for large crowds and they have fed nearly 2,000 families and distributed everything from clean clothes to dry shoes to tents.

R250 feeds 1 family of 6 people for 2 weeks. Please consider giving, and even asking your church to partner with us to meet these time-sensitive critical needs.

    Fuel the ships!

Fuel is a key expense in sustaining the ministry of the ship. Generous gifts to the Fuel Fund offset this cost and enable the ship to bring knowledge, help and hope to port communities worldwide.
The cost of sailing from port to port is one of the major expenses the OM Ships ministry faces. None of the vital work of Logos Hope would be able to take place without the fuel needed to keep it sailing. And while in port, the generators on board use fuel to supply the electricity needed.

Give a gift for fuel, and you will help Logos Hope touch another million lives this year!
